Born & lives in Japan, Artist & Director of Artist In Residence Yamanashi [AIRY]

"I freely select methods of expression such as drawing, painting, photography, installation, objects, etc. I focus on the relationships between nature, and the individual and the social situation surrounding us, especially that created by mass media. Or I find a symbol of contemporary society in the life of an individual living in the present to explore. While creating an artwork, I leave space for the viewer to approach the work and imagine how it relates to their own life.

Also I have been organizing international AIR program Artist In Residence Yamanashi [AIRY]since 2005 in Kofu-city Yamanashi. It is an artist run experimental space which connecting between international emerging artists and local creators/people."

わたしはドローイング、ペインティング、写真、インスタレーション、オブジェなどの表現方法を自由に選んでいます。自然との関係、そして私たちを取り巻く個人と社会の状況、特にマスメディアによって作られた状況に焦点を当てています。 さらに現在に生きる個人の生活のなかで現代社会の象徴を探求します。 鑑賞者が作品にアプローチする間、それが彼らの人生とどのように関連しているかを想像するための余白を残します。

また、2005年から山梨県甲府市で国際的なAIRプログラムアーティスト・イン・レジデンス山梨[AIRY]を主催しています。 それは、国際的な新進アーティストと地元のクリエーターまたは人々をつなぐアーティストが運営する実験スペースです。

Project for ASF Tokyo

Project [Plastic World] provides a view of the world from the perspective of our relationship with packaged food. The food packages that stimulate appetite bring satiation and vacancy at the same time. Appetite, which is a fundamental desire of human beings, has long since exploited ingredients globally. The human body is formed of the food that we eat. Now, the food package becomes the outer covering of our body. I invite you to opening ASF Tokyo, where we can explore what we feel when wearing costumes made with food packaging. Where will this experiment take us? 

This wild, colorful project has been exhibited throughout Japan and around the world since 2003. The work is illuminated by the natural light in each locality, thus making a shadow. This time, the light of Tokyo will create the shadow. 

 

プロジェクト[Plastic World]は、パッケージ化された食品と人間の関係を俯瞰します。 食欲を刺激する食品パッケージは満腹感と欠損感を同時にもたらします。 人間の根本的な欲求である食欲は、古くから世界中で食材を利用してきました。 人体は私たちが食べる食べ物でできています。 そして食品パッケージが私たちの体の外被になります。 食品包装で作られたコスチュームを身にまとう感覚をASF東京で想像または味わうことをお勧めします。果たしてこの実験はどこへ行くのでしょうか。

このワイルドでカラフルなプロジェクトは、2003年から日本中そして世界中で展示されています。各地の自然光に照らされ影を作ってきました。 今回は東京の光が影を作ります。
